I signed up for McKinsey Forward without knowing much about it. Just that it was free and from McKinsey. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I figured it was worth trying.
The program turned out to be more practical than I anticipated. It's not theory-heavy or academic. Instead, it focuses on how to actually approach problems, communicate ideas, and adapt when things don't go as planned.
I completed it while working full-time. It's self-paced, so I could fit it around my schedule. That said, it does require commitment. You can't just skim through it and expect to get much out of it.
There's a lot of content, and you won't be able to apply everything. Some modules felt more relevant to my work than others. My advice: don't try to absorb it all. Take what fits your situation and build from there. It's most valuable for people about to graduate or early in their careers, but anyone looking to grow can get something out of it.
McKinsey Forward is a free online program from McKinsey.org. It teaches skills McKinsey consultants use: problem-solving, communication, planning, and adaptability. It's self-paced and takes a few weeks to complete.
